Jo and I will of course be Ducking, so we'll see you during the day/after. I'd forgotten you were doing all three that day! Sadly I dont think Jo can make it for 10am for CoE. Actually just doing two now, heard through the grapevine that Mum was worried about seeing the three - so I'm going to Julius Caesar in London so we'll do CoE and then have a relaxing day by the river and be refreshed for As You Like It. Shame about CoE - I love that one, not sure I've ever laughed so much at the theatre, it was starting to hurt. ;D

Anyone who hasn't seen it, please do try - or buy the Digital Theatre recording of it. Well worth the £8 or so they're charging. Or do both. Might make a topic about DT later (no not that DT) as well as Dust House.

Meeting for lunch would be excellent.

Hi everyone, so I'm not the only one who was originally hooked by the lovely David Tennant ;D Theatre was mandatory at my school, and there was quite a bit of Shakespeare - all in German translation though, which is definitely not the same! I just came across a German translation of Hamlet I still had kicking around in my bookshelf and went - yikes, what's that? We did have a ball performing The Taming of the Shrew though (Der Widerspenstigen Zähmung in German). Anywho, I spent the last years feeling miserable about being too chicken to try to read Shakespeare, and then came the new Hamlet DVD at the end of last year, or let's say rather the preview - that bit of the court scene on YouTube had me hooked instantly. Been reading like mad ever since (I'm at my 12th play at the moment). In April, a friend invited me to London, and I took the opportunity to nip over to Stratford for a week on my own. The plays I've seen since then: 1x Much Ado About Nothing (Hamburg Players) 1x MacBeth (Globe Theatre) 4x King Lear (RSC) 3.5x Romeo & Juliet (RSC) - missed part of one performance 1x YPS Hamlet Going back end of August/beginning of Semptember for As You Like It and The Winter's Tale.

I'm a 30-something and other than the occasional pantomime, I certainly wasn't a theatre-goer until 5 September 2008. Those of you who know your RSC dates will realise this was a performance of Tennant's Hamlet at the Courtyard. Yes, yes, yes, ANOTHER one lured to the theatre by the divine DT. Saying it changed my life isn't an overstatement. The performance took my breath away. The hairs on the back of my neck tingled. I stayed in Stratford overnight and next morning I queued for returns to see the Saturday matinee. From that moment I was pretty hooked. Since then at the RSC I've seen: Hamlet (2008) - 10 times I think. 6 at the Courtyard. 4 at the Novello (1 w/Bennett) Love's Labours Lost (2008) - 5 times I think A Midsummer Night's Dream (2008) - 4 times I think The Tempest (2009) 1 Julius Caesar (2009) 1 As You Like It (2008) 2 Twelfth Night (2009) 4 King Lear (2010) 1 Romeo and Juliet (2010) 2 Antony and Cleopatra (2010) 1 Morte D'arthur (2010) 1 Including non-RSC stuff I've working out an average of 1 production a week since September 2008, and considering I live in NotLondon I think that's pretty good going. Last year I started looking for work in the industry to no avail, so I took the MASSIVE step of applying to go back to University to study Theatre Production.....and I got a place so from Sept 2010 I'm going to be a student again. I'm fully expecting to be the oldest student in town but it's going to be brilliant. @kjbkjb on twitter for general ramblings about stuff and nonsense.

Hello! I'm Gabriella, I'm 22, and I've been an obsessive theatre-goer since about 2006, seeing about 2 plays a week on average (the joys of living in London!). I was actually living abroad in Europe when most of the run of DT's Hamlet and LLL was on, but that didn't stop me popping back to see my favourite actor of all time (loved him since Casanova) in probably my favourite play of all time! Luckily it turned out to be well worth my while because the rest of the ensemble were also brilliant and now I am a confirmed fan of Ed, Tom & Sam too. I also run a website for RSC alumnus Stephen Mangan, who did a lot of stuff with them in the 1998-1999 season, and am generally a big luvvie for lots of brilliant Brit theatre actors like Toby Stephens, Tom Hollander and Sam West. I'm looking to work in the industry too, in either a press/marketing or casting capacity...so watch this space! p.s: fun fact - I saw DT's Comedy of Errors at the Barbican in about 1999 and I remember turning to my friend and saying "That David Tennant was very good wasn't he?". If only I knew...

Hmm, where to begin...? Well a good place to start would be my name etc. So, my name is Jennie (please feel free to call me that or jimee or any variation of the two), I am 23 and I live in Newcastle.
The first show I remember seeing was Joseph when I was about 7 but my first RSC production was King Lear in on 17th November 2004. It starred Corin Redgrave as Lear (also Matthew Rhys as Edmund if any of you know who he is, fairly famous now).
Since then I have seen:
As You Like It Comedy of Errors Midsummer Night's Dream Much Ado about Nothing Taming of the Shrew Tempest Twelfth Night The Winter's Tale Hamlet Julius Ceasar King Lear Macbeth Othello Romeo and Juliet Morte d'Arthur
Some of them more then once but I can't really be bothered to sort through the tickets to find dates etc. right now. The plan is to see every Shakespeare play performed live (Antony & Cleopatra will be added to the list of those seen in 2 weeks).
King Lear is my favourite, it was the first one I saw live, it was utterly amazing and it's what really got me hooked on live Shakespeare.
The first play I studied was The Tempest. I was only 9/10 and honestly, I hated it. It was confusing anyway and the teacher was awful. I then did the first part of Macbeth and the Mechanicals scenes in Midsummer Nights Dream. I didn't get to study a full play until I took A Level Literature and did Much Ado About Nothing and Measure for Measure
Hopefully this makes *some* sense and any questions please just ask.
