OK - well later on today tickets go on sale to RSC members for the new theatre opening and I thought it'd be fun to have a place where we can chat about what tickets we've bought and what we're planning to go to.
What was it that attracted you to those shows?
Good luck, with your ticket buying all.
(P.S. sorry to those of you who aren't full members and have to wait longer)

I've just booked:
Members Q&A - 1st December Tim Minchin (front row of circle baybay) Romeo & Juliet - 2nd April (front row, stage right) Theatre tour - 2nd April Silence - 18th May (press night)
Anyone going to join me on the tour? Decided to do it later and miss all the reopening bruhaha.
Booking first Lear when phone booking opens. Can't book £5 tickets online. Grrr.

Roger Rees - 15th Dec Mat Lights Sound Action - 15th Dec Matilda (already booked - 23rd Jan King Lear - 23rd Feb Tony & Pat - 5th March Mat The Tempest - 14th March Mat
May well slot in a R&J when the £5 tickets come up, and possibly a couple more when I've reviewed the train situation and how much this is all going to cost me!

1 Members' Preview - 1 Dec 2 Roger Rees - 15 Dec eve 3 Lights Sound Action - 15 Dec - afternoon 4 Tim Minchin - 16 Feb 5 Silence - 18/5 (press night) 6 American Trade - 8/6 (press night)
What attracted me to the shows etc? 1 I'm a member. It's just £7.50. Who wouldn't? 2 Sounded interesting and I've not seen Roger Rees in action yet 3 Sounded interesting, and will help with my course. 4 Should be an excellent evening. 5 It's with Filter Theatre and I LOVED their Twelfth Night. I've not been to a PN before so am also excited about that. 6 Sounded interesting and PN is a Wed, and Wed is a good day for me to get to London for an evening without too much rush.

Daniel - are you from Oxford(shire)? If so, I'd just like to say that I fully sympathise with you re: the sheer hell of trying to get a train to and back from Stratford! I'm "only" an advance member so I don't get to book yet. I'm thinking of doing Lear, R&J and maybe CoE on the last day (if I can get £5 tickets) but haven't decided yet. What I have decided on is that I'm going to upgrade to full membership at the next opportunity. One question: is the Select Your Own Seat feature available for both the new theatres? I like that and I don't trust some computer to judge where I want to sit.

It doesn't seem to be available for all preview events though (my Tim Minchin tickets were allocated for me). You also can't chose for the Hampstead dates. Good to see so many people getting the tickets they want. So far I've booked for:
Roger Rees - Mat 15th December (I may be standing, I have no idea) Lights, Sound, Action - 15th December King Lear - 23rd February Hamlet - 24th February Anthony and Cleopatra - 18th March Tempest - 19th March Rape of Lucrece - 1st April
Hopefully going to do the last Lear and R&J on the 2nd, just waiting for the phone lines to open. Not booked for the Hampstead stuff, though will almost certainly go to all of them - debating whether to wait until they announce the special events.
Trying to limit the number of trips I take to Stratford, though can't promise I won't be tempted by more stuff as it gets closer.

Daniel - are you from Oxford(shire)? If so, I'd just like to say that I fully sympathise with you re: the sheer hell of trying to get a train to and back from Stratford! Yeah, well.. my train station is Oxford, and I generally get a bus/taxi/picked up from there. And it's alright, can leave on a train at ~10am and get back ~7.15pm for matinees. Evenings.. more fun. One question: is the Select Your Own Seat feature available for both the new theatres? I like that and I don't trust some computer to judge where I want to sit. This one has already been replied to - for some shows I booked yes, in theory, however the system was clearly struggling under the pressure - so I had best tickets selected instead.

I believe I'm in stalls for both (something like D29 and G35). And yeah - I'm waiting until we hear of Friends events etc before booking Hampstead, it's not exactly on any obvious route for me to anyway - so not as though I want to go back for many different things every other week! Do you use hotels, by the way? That's something I'm aware I'm going to have to start looking into at this rate!

Ummm... up in one of the superseats in the circle got LSA - given that I will likely never shell out for a superseat again. For Lear, it's stalls - somewhere in row B.

I just got finished working for a hotel in Stratford, so I tend to avoid them. The B&Bs are my choice - the Adelphi being my absolute favourite, even if they've been all booked up for the summer.

About the theatre tour - does it say on the website anywhere how long it lasts? Yeah, well.. my train station is Oxford, and I generally get a bus/taxi/picked up from there. And it's alright, can leave on a train at ~10am and get back ~7.15pm for matinees. Evenings.. more fun. 10:07 from Oxford, changing at Banbury; then the 17:40 from Stratford, changing at Leamington? That's what I do. No problem with matinees as you say, but evenings are difficult at best, sometimes impossible. I'm just going to book into a B&B if I do see the last R&J in April.
