OK - I'm sad to see this board with no postings, so just to kick us off - one of the advantages (and sometimes disadvantages) of Stratford is that it's so small you spot the same people all the time - including the actors. So where's the strangest place you've spotted someone?
Darrell da'Silva getting his photos printed in Boots stood out for me, though partly because I literally ran into him.
Anyone else...

Oliver Ford Davies walking past Lush. We stuck our head out of the door just to watch him walk down the road haha.
Ed Bennett walking out of the Courtyard - a full year after he left the ensemble. We'd both just seen The Drunks. We had a hug and a chat. Was good to see him again!

Oh god I'd almost forgotten that when I went to see The Tempest, Ed was watching it too. I've never spoken to him so no hugs for me - but I could see him from where I was sitting, very strange. It's nice to see him back thought. I always like it when I see the actors supporting each other - I've seen Noma at a few of the Understudy runs, James Howard gave a standing ovation to Leave, the other half of the ensemble all seemed to be at the Morte D'Arthur press night and at the Young Russia performance in Stratford ensemble members almost outnumbered audience members - I was sat right in the middle of them all.

Considering I'm in Stratford every day you'd really think that I'd bump into famous type people all the time, but then I am not the most observant of people as I'm sure @queen Mab will vouch for!
I have met David Tennant, Patrick Stewart, Oliver Ford Davies, Richard Wilson, Jonjo O'Neill, Ed Bennett, Sam Alexander, Sam Troughton, Mariah Gale plus many others at stage door and in the Duck. One sighting away from that vicinity however, was by a colleague who spotted Patrick Stewart in a Stratford dry cleaners insisting that they clean his duvet! Plus a friend of said colleague also works as a masseuse for actors/artists etc and has had the pleasure (haha) of massaging DT after a tiring production on several occasions. Some people get the best jobs don't they?

Sparklean in Old Town maybe, I know the RSC own houses around there as it was where I used to do my laundry and once wandered into the pub opposite to find an entire RSC cast drinking. And, I'm not at all jealous of your other friend.

I'm not sure - apparently they do free parking there for 20 mins if you use it. If that helps at all? lol. Ooh what pub is that then?
No I'm not jealous either. Grr! :-P

Ooh what pub is that then? The West End on Bull Street - I'd head there sometimes because it was out of the way and usually quieter, plus the food was good and they used to play show tunes in the background. They had a quiz night too though I never made it to one. Nice place.

Oh I forgot! I also literally walked into Penny Downie in London. I was so embarrassed. We were outside the Novello waiting for Midsummer Night's Dream. We were at the stage door, getting autographs as folk went in. Suddenly, Leeann goes "Oh Penny's coming!" and I turn around and go "where?" and just at that moment, she walked round the corner square into me. I was totally not expecting to see her, being as she wasn't in the cast!
Also saw Minnie Gale on a street in London, it might have been Soho... can't remember. Saw her in Chichester too when seeing the last night of Ed Bennett & Sam Alexander's Hay Fever.

Not someone I've seen at the RSC (alas) but that reminded me of my brief encounter with an old alumni - I was at a theatre queuing for the toilet when suddenly the women at the sinks turned around and politely asked me if she could use the hand dryer I was in front of. It was Dame Judy Dench, I was absolutely stunned. Thankfully ingrained practice kicked in and I managed to say "Of course, sorry about that" whilst the rest of my brain caught up with what had just happened, pretty much that was by the time I was back in my seat (a row in front of hers) and the lights were going down.

I was on my way to the café at the Courtyard for lunch, and there's this guy walking past me saying "hi" and I say "hi" back and wonder who was that? And then it clicked - Greg Hicks and he had signed my programme the night before! I was well impressed that he remembered my face, since we hadn't talked much. He just looks so different when he's not Lear ;D

Only ever been to Stratford once and only for a day from London so no fun Stratford stories.
I did see someone running up Grey Street in front of the Theatre Royal Newcastle (definitely in full costume as they were wearing one of those smock things). It was raining and they were in the middle of their tech rehearsal for Romeo and Juliet. Not as interesting or exciting as any of yours but it's the best I have.
My stage door stories are ever so slightly better: Me and a friend stood and discussed the weather with Richard Wilson after he commented on the fact we were getting rained on. Jonjo O'Neill broke my pen.

None that were particularly interesting in Stratford, I've seen Charles Aitken, Mariah Gale and Dyfan Dwyfor around town pre- or post-show, but not in any particularly unusual circumstances. I've had an Ed Bennett sighting too, but in London - at the matinee of Design for Living this Wednesday just gone. I've had a few intersting (i.e. unusual) celebrity sightings but not RSC people. For instance I believe Dominic Cooper is stalking me - I've seen him on three entirely separate occasions in the past month. And he is RSC! A Midsummer Night's Dream, 2002. Apparently.
