OK - so I'm sure we've all got little things we discovered about the theatre or Stratford itself, that just makes any trip to Stratford glow a little bit brighter. Whether it's from the best way to book to the best places to grab something to eat in a hurry. And I thought it would be a good idea to have a place to share all this useless useful information. A silly one first for the ladies:At the Courtyard before the show there always seem to be massive queues for the toilets - instead of waiting I pop upstairs and generally find the balcony loos to be completely empty. And a general Stratford tip:There are great walking tours that leave from the swan fountain most days ( www.stratfordtownwalk.co.uk/index.php?id=1). Even better they give you vouchers that can be used throughout Stratford and you end up saving lots more than you spent on the tour. You can use them at Shakespeare's Houses and lots of other places - but my personal favourite is they give you 15% off food at the Duck. So come on, what are yours?

It's always more fun with a friend, and you get better ducks with high quality bread

If you want to have a look at the Birthplace, have a cream tea in the café in front of it and wait for a lull in between busloads.
If you need internet access and don't have wifi, you can go online at the public library for 2.50/hour

One for those stage door limpets - most of the actors dont actually exit the theatre by the stage door, but rather the door to the side of the main doors (between the main doors & the cafe). Some even exit later via the main doors. It can change depending on the night, so if you're after getting an entire cast autograph, you may have to go 2 nights.
Alternatively, if you leave your programme at the stage door (or post it to the theatre) with a paid up addressed envelope, the cast will sign it and it will be returned to you.

Duck? didn't know it served food that late, does the chippie open until late? Duck serves food to 10ish usually, chippy is normally closed - your best bet is generally the Indians on Sheep Street, they seem to stay open the longest.

Thanks babe as ever very helpful, but will feel wrong seeing a play without you, not sure I want to compound the wrongness by havin a Indian without you
