We have casting news. Bertie Carvel - Miss Trunchball. Crossdressing men ahoy! Yay! They know the way to my heart clearly. Though I have to say I am utterly intrigued as he is apparently 6' tall (and quite handsome) - the children are going to look like midgets.

Isn't that the point? In the film Pam Ferris looked ginormous. Miss Trunchbull was a shotputter, not some weeny woman lol

Must admit I have not seen the film/read the book (though I loved them both) since I was a wee thing so my memory is very hazy.

Full casting: www.rsc.org.uk/about-us/press/2959.aspxAlso mentions Lauren Ward as Miss Honey. Lauren recently played Jack Harkness's mother in an episode of Torchwood. She's suitably sweet and perky for the role.

Tim Minchin just responded via Twitter regarding whether the show will get a WE transfer or at least a national tour.
"I sure bloody hope so".

I have been asked, as part of The RSC Key Young Tweeters programme, to tweet a review for Matilda. This means free tickets. Hurrah. Watch this space (and @_ophelia) for my review, coming Saturday 20th!
