Until the 21st August 2010, you can see Ed at the Old Vic playing Oliver in As You Like It and Ferdinand in The Tempest for the transatlantic Bridge Project. More information here: www.oldvictheatre.com/whatson.php?id=58

I'm off to see it in a couple of weeks - really looking forward to it as I thought Ed was awesome in everything at the RSC. You'll have to tell us what you think of it.

Ah, might see if I can get hold of tickets to one or the toher - been over a year since I saw either of those plays!

I'm seeing AYLI in 2 weeks. I chose to see that one over the Tempest, even though I've previously seen a AYLI (RSC of course) and never seen a Tempest, I'd heard better reviews for AYLI. One overriding opinion was that Ed was playing a deliciously toffy Oliver! I'm looking forward to comparing his performance to that of Charlie Aitken's (whom I adore - his performance in The Drunks was worth the ticket price alone).

I won't comment on AYLI until I've seen the one at the RSC again----which funnily enough is Monday!!! It has been over a year since I saw the RSC one.
Looking forward to seeing Ed in a production again.

If you have to choose only one of the Bridge Project plays, go for As You Like It. It's a lovely production with stunning music. Whereas The Tempest is... well... lacking, shall we say.

Yep, this is what most of the reviews seem to be suggesting, though the reviews have been a little muddled - I think seeing both plays in a day didn't help - so even though The Tempest is one of my favourites, thought I'd go to As You Like It instead. One overriding opinion was that Ed was playing a deliciously toffy Oliver! I'm looking forward to comparing his performance to that of Charlie Aitken's (whom I adore - his performance in The Drunks was worth the ticket price alone). The first time I ever saw the current ensemble was the As You Like It understudy run where he was Orlando - he was excellent in it. Actually everyone was great, gave me a weird introduction to them all - Debbie Korley, bless her, was playing both Pheobe and Audrey.

I will say I enjoyed AYLI at the Old Vic, the opening is different and I did prefer the second half over the first.
That is all I will say until I've seen AYLI at the RSC on Monday.
